I love music that amps me up and has me hitting the repeat button! Well, I’ve found my track for the day and it’s from Kevin Rudolf who is joined by the ‘Cash Money Heroes’. I don’t like to admit that I like many Cash Money songs, but damn I respect their ability to create catchy hooks and make hit records. Rudolf kills the production and hook on this one, you get your usually yawn-worthy rhymes from Birdman, Jay Sean croons quite nicely, and Weezy closes it out with a solid performance. Enjoy!
Mandie just introduced me to a band by the name of Atomic Tom. They hail from Brooklyn, NY and are working on mixing their album right now. Check out some reviews from Amie Street and MTV below. Check out their single Take me Out and if you like their stuff, go vote for them here (bottom right hand corner). Let me know what you think!
“Atomic Tom is an energetic pop-rock band that wants to rock your world. Singing about love, sex, and madness, this NYC based band is influenced by bands like The Cure and The Dandy Warhols. They’ve gained so much buzz that they’ve earned a weekly residency at the well known rock club Arlene’s Grocery. Check these guys out before the rest of the
world discovers this great band.” – Amie Street
“Atomic Tom frontman Luke White likes to refer to their performances as “melting faces” rock shows. White’s songs [translate] well into deep, melodic strums that have steady, simple bass lines, highlighting White’s thick vocal style.”
My favorite indie pop-rock band right now, Chester French, is back with a new cut off of Jacques Jams Vol. 1: Endurance created by Clinton Sparks & Chester French. The boys along with Diddy, Clinton Sparks, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Cassie and more run around Vegas with a “Hangover 2” theme. Hmm, this is getting me amped up to go back to Vegas. Enjoy!
I just discovered the band, Apes & Androids, through Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) on Twitter. According to Wikipedia, the band became known for its extravagant live shows which included dancers dressed as zombies and their mix of glam rock and electro pop. Too bad it also says they disbanded in ’09. Maybe 2010 will change their mind? What do you all think.
