GOAL! Henry Signs Deal With NY Red Bulls

with 2 comments

Maybe there is hope for Soccer in the U.S. yet. I’m sure like me, a lot of you are going through World Cup withdrawal but now some exciting news is coming out of the MLS. French striker, Thierry Henry, has signed a multi-year deal with the New York Red Bulls. via ESPN

The 32 year old European league superstar, formerly of Arsenal and Barcelona, is expected to make his Red Bulls’ debut on July 22 in an exhibition against Premier League club Tottenham.

The MLS has already experimented with a few European stars, most notably, David Beckham who signed a multi-year deal with the L.A. Galaxy back in 2007. The Beckham experience has been met with mixed reviews and he will need to fully commit to the MLS after suffering an injury while on loan to AC Milan.

  1. I think it was a good choice from Thierry Henry to join the New Yorker Red Bulls. He will be an awesome player for the MSL.
