Lupe is one of my favorite MC’s right now, definitely an amazing talent. If he keeps up the consistency, he’ll go down as one of the best. Check out his new mixtape, Enemy of the State: A Love Story, and look out for another mixtape dropping on December 25th.
These new Louboutins are out there, but pretty freakin’ sweet. So if you’ve been keeping an eye on fashion or been listening to the latest top 40 hits, you’ve probably heard of the brand Louboutin. I first heard of them in the Jay-Z song I Know. Typically they’ve been marketed towards women but now French luxury shoemaker Christian Louboutin debuted a small collection of men’s shoes for Fall/Winter 2009. “Well known for his fiery-red soles, these pairs are no different, and the solo sneaker style, the Louis, returns for Spring/Summer 2010 completely studded out. Available in black or white leather, with a retail price of around $1200 USD a pair.” (via Highsnobiety.com) What do you think?
“Friendship… is not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.” Muhammad Ali
I just spotted this incredible vest designed by Pharrell over at highsnobiety.com. This jacket is DOPE, I don’t know if I could pull it off but I’d love to try. What do you think?
After just announcing their partnership with Japanese brand Visvim for a line called Moncler V, the classic outerwear label now brings news of a collection by Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams. The collection features an assortment of all-black jackets, and includes a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket (pictured) with Velcro-ed side slits, reversible matte/shiny down vests and elongated puffers. Each jacket is built with textiles from Bionic, Pharrell’s own company that produces fabric from recycled plastic bottles. Furthermore, printed linings feature images of lush forests, shot at dusk by Japanese artist Keita Sugiura. Prices and distribution details are yet to be finalized
My homie, Marvin, sent me this new artist who just signed to Epic Records. Nneka is a Nigerian-German hip hop/soul singer and songwriter. She sings in English and her traditional language of Igbo. As a young singer she first gained public attention in 2004 while performing as an opening act for dancehall reggae star Sean Paul at Hamburg Stadtpark. She has already release two albums overseas, Victim of Truth (2005) and No Longer at Ease (2008), but her first US release Concrete Jungle is set for February 2, 2010 (via Wiki). I think she’s pretty talented, so check her out.
I was turned onto this bad recently and from the tracks I’ve heard, they’re pretty impressive. They have a unique sound and I encourage you all to take a listen. Check out their new video for Cousins. Enjoy!
I just discovered Ashley Greene this past weekend when I watched Twilight, yes I know I’m late. Ashley is a beauty who’s star is quickly rising. She’ll be starring in the 2nd installment of the Twilight series, New Moon, which comes out this Friday. Her star power should get even bigger after this weekend. Learn more about her here.
Awesome new remix from the G.O.O.D. Music crew. After the fall of Roc-a-Fella and disappointments of Dipset, G-Unit, Terror Squad etc … they just might be the dopest crew in Hip-Hop hands down. Check out the remix!
Bey and GaGa?!?! Wow! Way too much hotness and power in one video. I made it through the whole video, but it was almost too much. Looks like Bey and GaGa became friends after this year’s MTV VMAs and now they remixed two songs together, Beyonce’s Video Phone and Lady GaGa’s Telephone. Hmm, both songs are phone related, I wonder what the story behind that is? Enjoy!
A decade after Brad Pitt and Edward Norton punched their way into our hearts, director David Fincher talks to Paul Cullum about his macho masterpiece here. Fight Club is also now on Blu-Ray, definitely going to get that! Amazon.
Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who’ve ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don’t need. We’re the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War’s a spiritual war… our Great Depression is our lives. We’ve all been raised on television to believe that one day we’d all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won’t. And we’re slowly learning that fact. And we’re very, very pissed off.
